Jewellery against 900-year-old camel-thorn.
Treatment
Erika Peña's design language is sculptural, organic, hand-formed. The brief looked for a setting that matched it — something old, something honest. Deadvlei is a 900-year-old white clay pan ringed by red dunes and the skeletal trees that gave it its name. It works because nothing else looks like it.
Pre-dawn permits through Namibia Wildlife Resorts. Camp at Sossus Dune Lodge for in-park access. 4×4 fleet, climbing kit for the dune approach, hair and makeup running off generator at the lodge. Two shooting days, mostly at first light.
Direction kept the talent's hands and the pieces in frame as a quiet pair — no campaign-poster posing. The pan held the rest.
